Meet Makayla

Makayla is a Board Certified Functional Nutrition Practitioner based in Wasilla, Alaska, who helps individuals make sense of complex symptoms through a holistic and integrative approach to care. Her practice blends science with story—honoring the full context of a person’s life, not just their diagnosis.

After becoming a mother, Makayla experienced postpartum depression and relied on anxiety medication for support. Later, her journey through fertility challenges and the loss of twins—while her family faced overlapping cancer diagnoses—led her to functional nutrition in search of deeper healing. Through that process, she restored her health, transitioned off medication, and discovered her purpose in helping others reconnect with their bodies and health journeys.

At Perspective Practice, Makayla offers:

  • Private Nutrition Counseling for individuals seeking personalized, root-cause guidance

  • Brown Bag Workshops for businesses, organizations, and healthcare teams

  • Clinical Consults for providers managing complex patient cases

She collaborates with local practitioners and provides education across both community and clinical settings. Her work supports those facing autoimmune conditions, hormonal imbalances, brain injuries, burnout, and more—offering care rooted in connection, curiosity, and the belief that healing begins when we’re seen as whole.
